Double Bend Preformed Thermoplastic Road Marking

The ‘Double Bend’ preformed thermoplastic road marking is one of our many warning signs from our range of road markings. This marking is seen mostly on A and B roads where the route of the road is not immediately visible to road users. It Servers to warn drivers that the road ahead suddenly turns or has multiple changed to the direction.

This can be used in combination with the post mounted double bend ahead traffic sign to provide even more warning of the potential hazard ahead. Post mounted signs can be found in our signage section here.

Key Features:

  • Easy Application - No special knowledge, talent or years at art school required, just a clean surface and a gas burner. Just place the marking bead side up and apply heat till fully melted onto the surface.
  • Professional Appearance - These markings always look good due to their pre-cut design.
  • Fast To Install - Minimal surface preparation is required for these markings, with a worst-case scenario requiring an application of primer.
  • Non-Slip - No need to apply glass bead to these markings as it comes embedded in them.
  • Conforms - BSEN 1871

  • 2500mm x 1200mm

Application Of Our Thermoplastic Warning Symbols

Applying our preformed thermoplastic warning symbols is very easy. Firstly the area must be cleaned of all loose debris, oil, grease and salts. Once this is done you are ready to get going. If your road surface is old tarmac, concrete or block paving then you will need to use our fast-drying primer.

Once you have fully prepped the surface the roundel can be set out. Once you are happy with the marking positioning a heat gun can be used to melt the marking to the road surface. For additional traction glass bead can be sprinkled over the surface, this is fused into the marking with the further application of heat.

Thermoplastic On Block Paving

Thermoplastic on block paving is known to be more difficult to apply and has a substantially shorter lifetime than on bituminous surfaces, such as tarmac.

Block paving is not a solid structure. Most of the time, they are put down and sand is added into the grooves, so over time when moisture creeps in as well as moss, movement can be made within 2 blocks, making the material crack and fail.
